Terms of Service
Applicable to social.lahevirta.fi
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of social.lahevirta.fi ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Basic Terms
You are responsible for your use of the Service and any content you post. Content you post or share must be yours or you must have permission to share it.
2. Federation and Distributed Data
social.lahevirta.fi is part of the decentralized Fediverse using the ActivityPub protocol. The following terms apply to federated interactions and data:
- Outbound Content: Content published through the Service is federated and distributed across remote servers on the network. All content you post must comply with these Terms, regardless of where or how it is accessed, cached, or relayed across the Fediverse.
- Inbound Interactions: Content and interactions originating from remote instances and accounts that interact with users on the Service are subject to our conduct rules and moderation policies while hosted on or relayed through our instance.
- Moderation and Defederation: We reserve the right to moderate, filter, silence, or defederate (block) external instances, remote accounts, or federated data that violate our rules or applicable laws.
3. Privacy
Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
4. Service Access
social.lahevirta.fi is a private instance limited exclusively to members of the extended Lähevirta family. Accounts are created and managed by the service administrator. Public registration is not available.
5. Service Rules and Prohibited Activities
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Posting illegal content
- Posting content promoting extremist ideologies, including but not limited to nazism, fascism, and other forms of hate-based extremism
- Harassment of other users
- Impersonating others
- Spreading malware
- Automated or bulk access without permission
6. Legal Compliance
The Service operates under Finnish and European Union jurisdiction. The following legal frameworks apply:
- All users must comply with applicable Finnish laws and regulations
- All users must comply with European Union regulations, including:
- Data protection laws (GDPR)
- Other relevant EU directives
Any activities that violate Finnish or EU law are strictly prohibited and may result in:
- Immediate account termination
- Reporting to relevant authorities
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, our rules, or applicable laws, you are strongly encouraged to report it promptly:
- In-Platform: Use the built-in report feature within the Fediverse interface to flag the offending account or post.
- Email: Send a report directly to the instance administrator at admin@lahevirta.fi (including relevant links, handles, or context).
While reporting is voluntary and not a legal obligation, timely reports help us maintain a safe and compliant environment for everyone.
8. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
